A Multi-Modal Approach to Management.
Medication Management & Therapeutic Alignment.
Our Philosophy
Our Treatment Philosophy
Effective ADHD treatment is not "one-size-fits-all." At Synergistic Psychiatry, we use a modern, evidence-based approach that views treatment as a tool to support and strengthen your natural abilities.
Care begins with a comprehensive evaluation to better understand your symptoms, strengths, and goals. Our primary intervention is medication management when clinically appropriate,
supported by therapeutic guidance, education, and practical strategies designed to help you function at your best in everyday life.
Our approach includes:
- Comprehensive ADHD assessments
- Evidence-based medication management
- Personalized treatment plans
- Ongoing monitoring and optimization of treatment
- Practical strategies for focus, organization, and productivity

Methods
Pharmacology: The First Line of Defense
For many adults with ADHD, medication is the single most effective tool for symptom reduction. When dosed correctly, medication normalizes neurotransmitter function (specifically Dopamine and Norepinephrine).
Stimulant Medications
(e.g., amphetamine or methylphenidate medications)
Stimulant medications are considered the gold standard treatment for ADHD and are highly effective for many individuals. These medications are prescribed only after a comprehensive evaluation and safety review to ensure they are appropriate for your individual health profile.
Non-Stimulant Medications
For patients who do not tolerate stimulants or prefer alternative options, we also offer evidence-based non-stimulant medications such as atomoxetine and guanfacine. These treatments can provide consistent symptom support and may be helpful for individuals with certain medical considerations.
Treatment
Medication Management
For many adults with ADHD, medication is often one of the most effective tools for reducing symptoms and improving focus. When carefully prescribed and monitored, ADHD medications help regulate key neurotransmitters involved in attention and executive functioning, particularly dopamine and norepinephrine.
Strict Safety & Compliance Standards
As a clinical practice, patient safety is paramount. We adhere to rigorous state and federal guidelines regarding controlled substances:
PDMP Review
We review the state Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) prior to prescribing controlled medications to ensure safe and responsible treatment.
Medical Record Review
In some cases, we may request prior medical or psychiatric records to better understand your treatment history and ensure safe care.
Routine Monitoring
Patients prescribed stimulant medications participate in periodic follow-up appointments (typically every 1–3 months) to monitor treatment effectiveness and overall health.
No Guarantee
Medications are prescribed only when clinically appropriate. Treatment decisions are guided solely by medical judgment and patient safety.

The Role of Therapy
Pills do not teach skills. While medication quiets the noise, therapy helps you build the strategy. We provide therapeutic support within our sessions and encourage a "synergistic" relationship where we work together to tackle behavioral hurdles.
Note: For patients requiring intensive weekly psychotherapy (CBT/DBT), we can collaborate with your external therapist to ensure your medication supports your therapeutic goals.
Technology & Access
All appointments are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform designed to protect your privacy and make care convenient.
Requirements
Patients must be physically located in Florida at the time of their appointment, in accordance with state telehealth regulations. You will need a private location, a stable internet connection, and a smartphone, tablet, or computer with video capability.
Tech Failure Protocol
If technical issues occur during your appointment, we will attempt to reconnect via video. If necessary and clinically appropriate, the visit may be completed by telephone to ensure continuity of care.
